Well, I'm sure Flavia is a very nice person, and quite intelligent, indeed, if she was pursuing an "advanced degree."
Evidently. . . .
and unfortunately, she never acquired the critical thinking skills that a college education offers.
rehashed format but same ole' shite.. hypocritical article on viewing "weak" ones compassionately usign the example of a single mum arriving late yet the may km has a whole article on how rude it is not to be punctual.. read it and weep....

thought-stopping platitudes, like "we are in the last days!
"jehovah's witnesses are the only ones with the truth...".
what statements or claims did you use, or hear, that made you feel comforted by the fact that you were part of jehovah's organization?.
I wouldn't say this made me feel "comforted", but it did scare me away from critical thinking:
"That's how a 'spiritually weak' would reason on that" or "So-and-so is just 'spiritually weak"
Or my favorite: "Going to college is a sign that someone is 'spiritually weak'"
Those kinds of statements always bothered me because I didn't want to be a 'weak' person - I wanted to be strong! But when only 'weak' persons question things like the Genesis account of creation or the Flood, you just try to avoid thinking about it.
So the term 'spiritually weak' was a big thought-stopping mechanism for me.
BTW - I am writing this from my college library and am about to hit my first class of the day. . . .
Evidently, I am "spiritually weak"
from time to time my commute on the bqe takes me past the old brooklyn properties.
many of which stand now sans advertising.
soon the watchtower sign will be gone altogether.
CTRWTF - all I can can think of is how your commute on the BQE must SUCK. Sorry you have to endure that.
Yes, I agree with PHIZZY. . . . This has nothing to do with advertising anything. It has everything to do with the cult mentality.
he would love to see you.
i would tell them please come out anyway he would just love to see you.
i saw the lack of love and could not believe it.
well my wife asked me loint blank..."do you wanna be a witness anymore?
" and i told her no.. .
we then went into 1914 and shunning and 1975 and she said sheswondered many times about it.. anyways she said "so what do we do now?
b.o.r.i.n.g.. same ol' stuff.
highlights:.
- reading the bible "must be more than an intellectual experience".
You could desdribe me a lot of different ways. Lazy would not be one of them.
Because "apostates" don't want to go door to door spreading their horseshit, they're lazy. Bunch of arrogant assholes.
ok. i'm a brit as some of you know.. what i noticed with the wbt$ is how they only seem to write from an american cultural standpoint.
not a bad thing if you're one of my cousins form the usa i admit........ but.... here in the uk there are some things that are meaningless to us.. eg hazing.
this was warned about in a study and over here we had no idea what it was and it kind of alienated the congregation from the study.
"It struck me that the WBT$ was either incredibly lazy or myopic or both."
Both. And much much more. . . .

i hope the link works....it's on dailygalaxy anyway and deals with the mystery of how plants seem to make decisions.. rather than choose between atheism or theism, i choose pantheism - that the universe has a degree of consciousness distributed thruout it, perhaps even down to the quantum level.
we can call this background of a maintained cosmos "god" if we want.
"I choose pantheism - that the universe has a degree of consciousness distributed thruout it, perhaps even down to the quantum level."
I think what you are describing here might be panpsychism.
